Label printing with Roland DG printers/cutters

The Roland DG printer/cutters offer a fast and easy solution for the production of prototypes, small series and personalized labels. First, the machines print the labels and then they automatically cut the desired contours, making seperate purchase of cutting plotters unnecessary.

How do you proceed?

• Make a design in your favourite design software
• Draw a cutting line around your design
  • Make sure this line has a spot colour
  • Rename this line CutContour
• Save your design (preferably as pdf or eps)
• Import your design in VersaWorks
  • VersaWorks recognizes the cutting line automatically
• Set the number of labels you want to print and choose the correct profile

Give your labels something extra with the VersaUV

The VersaUV is an integrated printer/cutter featuring UV inks. The machine is equipped with six colours: CMYK, white and clear coat. Thanks to this combination, you can give your prints a luxurious look or create special effects. An example is a matte or glossy layer to accentuate certain parts of a print. The VersaUV also allows the creation of structure, Braille and doming effects.

You can use the VersaUV to print samples of labels or to produce small series of labels on label stock. You can also make personalised labels with to the software's variable printing function. Labels printed on the VersaUV have the same look and feel as labels produced with a label printer.
